Cows Mooove back to Sutton Park

Will all competitors in the forthcoming National Masters Open Road Relays in Sutton Park on the 18th May, note that you may be sharing the course with cows!!!

Two years ago several of our marshals turned drovers when the Sutton Park cows decided to invade our course. All was well and no harm done, although I’m not sure whether they all got back together again very quickly!!

Relays 2013 – Officials Appeal

Apologies for lack of information this year but other commitments have demanded my time away from uploading any new posts. However, I can report that final preparations for the National Masters Open Relays at Sutton Park on the 18th May are well in hand. Team entries are slightly down this year although the number of Clubs represented is slightly higher. Significantly more clubs are entering online and this helps us so much with production of the programme and in cutting down on admin that it is highly likely that next year we will go runner 4over to online entry only, the same as the ERRA Senior 12 stage Relays.

We have NOT had a massive response for officials and we are desperately short of timekeepers/recorders. Anyone who feels that they can help out then please contact me at mmac.sec@blueyonder.co.uk

Processing entries went well and we allowed an extra 3 days before closing the online entries. Thanks to everyone involved to make this happen. Queries with non-eligible athletes dropped this year and most were sorted out fairly quickly and painlessly. However there were still a few that team managers entered that were not registered 1st Claim athletes. But I think the message is getting across!

Age identifiers are not being used this year, instead the race number will reflect the age of the team. For example the prefix digit will denote age, therefore number 301A will be the 35-44; team 1; 1st leg, 425B will be 45-54; team 25; 2nd leg and so on. One less number to worry about!

All we need now is glorious weather ………………

Final Appeal for Officials & Marshals

This is a very important appeal for volunteers to help us at the National Masters Road Relays to be held at Sutton Park on Saturday, 12th May 2012.

Because the event clashes with the County Track & Field Championships we are desperately short of Officials. We need timekeepers, recorders, funnel recorders and anyone who can help with the start and finish procedures. Anyone who feels they can help us out then please in the first instance contact Mike Wrenn on mike.wrenn@blueyonder.co.uk

I am also compiling a list of Marshals; any member interested in helping out here should please contact me on mmac.sec@blueyonder.co.uk

Currently I am short of 15 places in total in the two races. If some can do both races, so much the better.

If we cannot get the required number of people then the event will be in danger of being called off.

Please try to help if you can.

12 Days To Go

With only 12 days to go to the closing date for receiving entries for the National Masters Open Road Relays, (14th April 2012) I have only received 5 club entries so far. I am not exactly in panic mode but I would have like to have received a few more by now. Please do your best team managers, to get your entries in to me as soon as possible, preferably using the online system as this cuts down dramatically the amount of administration. (We are all busy here at MMAC!)

Full information is available direct from the following link: – http://tinyurl.com/77y25ug

You can enter 3 times the number of athletes needed, so plenty of reserves. Don’t let worrying about injuries delay your entry.

I look forward to hearing from you all (team managers of course).

National Masters Open Road Relays 2012

All details, rules and entry forms are now available.

Would Team Managers please use the online entry system. This dramatically reduces administration by the organisers when coming to produce the event programme etc and also reduces the entry processing time. Athletes national registration numbers MUST be added on the entry NOT the regional vets/master membership number or club numbers. These are checked and ineligible runners will not be allowed to compete.

Please go to the appropriate page on this site for rules etc. A direct link http://tinyurl.com/77y25ug should take you there.
